Testimonies, position statements, interviews
Working with networks, coalitions, and individuals at all levels—whether within malaria-affected communities or at the global level—is critical to our efforts to direct greater attention and resources toward the process of testing and introducing malaria vaccines.
Here, you will be able to read testimony and position statements, as well as profiles of some of the people involved in this work.
Dr. Ruth Owusu, Research Physician and Clinical Research Fellow at Kintampo Health Research Centre in Ghana, is currently involved in the design and conduct of malaria drug and vaccine trials.
Her passion is to influence health policy through research, especially child health policy, and to see a marked decline in morbidity and mortality of preventable childhood diseases.
Dr. Owusu was a panelist at a World Malaria Day forum on Captiol Hill about "New Tools in the Fight against Malaria" in honor of World Malaria Day 2009. Read her remarks here.
MVI interviewed Dr. Owusu about some of the challenges related to her work. Read the complete interview.
